Registration – February 2012

ASM Parents,
Please join us for tea/coffee next Sunday at 9:45AM at the White House in Bilal Masjid complex. We would like to apprise you of what we are doing to the school and that will be followed by registration for the new term that begins Feb 12 through June. If you have already prepaid for the entire year, you don’t have to register again.
Tuition Information:
•       1-Child $235
•       2-Children $370
•       3-Children $470
Late fee $50/child added to your bill if payment not received before 12PM on Sunday Feb 12.
Program:
1.      Tea with Principal and the School Committee at 9:45 AM
2.      Presentation at 10:00AM
o       Calendar for the school
o       Direction of the school
o       Plans for expansion and the reasons for split and also what we are doing to move the classes
o       Issues
3.       Registration 10:30AM to 12:00PM
o       Registration is mandatory. If you have already paid for the entire term, you don’t have to pay again
o       Tuition for this term will be due at this time
Please make a check payable to Bilal Masjid Sunday School in the amount noted above. Please print out the form & attach the payment with it. The deadline for receiving forms and payments is February 12th. After that a late fee of $50 will be charged to your account.

Syria Humanitarian Aid Fundraiser, January 2012

MY Time (Muslim Youth Time, Masjid Bilal’s youth group), requests your help in our upcoming fundraiser! MY Time is planning a fundraiser on Sunday January 29th right after Thuhr prayer (12:30) for those in great need of humanitarian aid in Syria. Our past projects included the Haiti fundraiser and the Lybia fundraiser, both of which were quite successful thanks to the help of students and parents. Right now, the people of Syria have suffered over 5,400 deaths and many more injured, over 6,000 displaced and, in Akkar region of northern Lebanon containing countless refugees from Syria, over 50% of the population lives below the poverty line. We can all help provide them with the most basic of aid: alleviating hunger, preventing the spread of illness through hygiene kits and providing refugees with clothes-all things we take for granted, all things they need right now. MY Time urges you all to take part in this fundraiser and change someone’s life.

Important Changes to Sunday School Operations

ASM Parents,

The White House and the Shed are no longer available for use by the Sunday School as the White House is being upgraded and the Shed will be torn down. This will impact the Sunday School. We will need to temporarily split the Sunday School to AM and PM sections. We scheduled a meeting with parents of students who are impacted by this on 12-18 and communicated the changes to them and have spoken to all the teachers impacted by this. We will implement this policy starting Jan 8.

Level 1 through 6 will be from 9:30AM to 12:15PM and Level 7-9 will be from 12:45PM to 2:45PM. Starting Sep 2012, InshAllah we will get two new trailers and we will have no need to split and we will have the school back at the same time for all levels. In February,  we will also get the White House renovated and will be able to use it InshAllah. Please make a note of the schedule changes for your students. The class schedule is as follows:

Morning Section 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM

1. Level 2A/2B will be combined and classes will be held in Trailer East (in front of men’s side)
2. Level 1A/1B will be combined and classes will be held in Trailer West
3. Level 3 will move to the ISGP house Main Hall
4. Level 4 will be moved to ISGP house new small room. Some students will be moved to level 5. Sr. Rania will decide who
5. Level 5 will stay in Women’s side
6. Level 6 will move to mens’ main prayer hall

Afternoon Section 12:45 PM to 2:45 PM

7. Level 7 will be at ISGP main Hall in the PM.
8. Level 8 will be in the in Trailer West
9. Level 9 will be in the in Trailer East (Men’s side)
10. Special Class will be in Trailer East.

Welcome to another School year!

Dear Parents and Students, Asalaam Alikum

Bilal Weekend School welcomes you to another school year. The classes start Insha’Allah on Sunday Sep 18th at 9:30 AM. We will have lists of all students and the classes they are going to available in the school on Sunday. These lists will be posted at several places.

Start/End Timing

School starts at 9:30AM and ends at 12:30PM

Books

Books will be distributed sometimes during the first day of school

Who can go to Classes

Only students whose names are on the lists can go to the classes:

  • Only returning students who have registered and have paid will be allowed to go to classes. All such students will be on the list
  • New students who are going to Level 1 can go to the classes

Students who must visit the Registration Desk before they can go to classes

  • If you are a Returning Student and your name is not on the list, you will be required to visit the Registration Desk. You will not be allowed to go to classes until you get an official slip from the registration table that allows you to.
  • Registration Desk will be located under the covered area between the trailer and the masjid

Students who must visit the Special Class Desk before they can go to classes

  • If you are a New Student who is already registered you will not be allowed to go to classes until you clear with the Special Class desk.
  • If you are a new student/parent who has not registered, please know that registration has closed and we are not taking any more students at this time
  • Special Class Desk will be located under near the back entrance of the Blue House (kitty corner from the Shed)

Special Notes:

Ramadan Quran Contest: The Ramadan Quran Contest will be held at a date to be announced after the first week.

Snacks for Children – Please send some snacks with your children.

Dear Parents Assalamualaikum, 

Ramadan Mubarak and Eid Mubarak to all of you. Here is the information regarding the upcoming Sunday school registration details. All new and returning students need to be registered on Sunday school website before 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time on Sept 14th. In-person registration will be held on Sunday, Sept 11th at 9:30am to 11:30 am at Bilal Masjid Trailer.

Important Notes:

  1. School StartsSunday, Sept 18th at 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM  
  2. Please do not come to the School on Sep 18th if you are not registered. You will not be allowed to take your child to classes. Please see note regarding late registration below.
  3. There are some parents who have not paid the tuition for last year second term. We will place a hold on registration until all accounts are cleared.
  4. If you need financial assistance please register online or in-person but you must apply for financial aid in-person on Sep 11th.
  5. This year we have more students than we have the capacity for. There is a waiting list and we may have to turn students away for lack of space available to accommodate all. It is important that the returning parents register and pay before the deadline. For new students, preference will be given to those who register early.

New students Registration:

  1. All new students must register on our website and send payment via regular mail or in-person on Sep 11th (see below). After online registration, all new students will have to take a placement test (except first grade).

  3. Placement Testing time: 10:00am to 11:00am at Sept 11th at Bilal Sunday school. For more information on testing please ceck out our FAQs.

Returning Students Registration:

  1. Returning students must register on our website using the following link: http://bilalmasjid.com/sundayschool/index.php/returning-students
  2. All returning students must register on our website and send payment via regular mail or in-person on Sep 11th (see below). After you are successfully registered and have made a payment, we will invite you to the web portal where you can check student grades, attendance and make changes to personal information.

In-Person Registration for New and Returning Students

In person registration: 9:30am to 11:30am at Sept 11th at Bilal Masjid Trailer

Late Registration

There will be no registration of new students on Sep 18th. Any late comers (new or returning) will be invited to join on Sep 25th at 9:00AM. A late fee of $25 per child will be charged and admission will be strictly on availability basis.

Tuition information for fall 2011 and spring 2012. Fee includes all books:

  1. Lump sum payment for the entire year will avail a 5% discount on tuition.
  2. Two payments for the school year – Sept 2011 and then Feb 2012.
